UFC's Georges St-Pierre Says Mayweather Will Lose To Pacquiao

The current UFC welterweight champion, Georges "Rush" St-Pierre, is in the Philippines to help promote the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) in Asia.

The UFC plans on expanding their brand and organization to Asia in countries such as the Philippines and China.

According to a report by ABS-CBN, a Philippine news station, GSP as he is known by his fans, believes Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn't want to fight Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao because Pacquiao is too much of a threat to his undefeated record.

"Knowing that Pacquiao is a big, big threat, he doesn't want to have that fight because he might have a lot to lose," St.-Pierre said.

GSP, who trained with Pacquiao's boxing coach, Freddie Roach, over the summer, believes that if Mayweather and Pacquiao fought tomorrow Pacquiao would win the fight.

"I've seen Mayweather's last fight, he got rocked by (Sugar Shane) Mosley. I think Pacquiao is really untouchable right now. If they fight like tomorrow, I think Pacquiao would win," GSP told ABS-CBN.

49ers Lose Heartbreaker in Atlanta

ATLANTA – It was theirs for the taking. But in the end, the Falcons took the ball away when it mattered most, and then they took the game too.

Leading 14-13 at the two-minute warning, the 49ers needed one last defensive stop to preserve their first win of 2010. It seemed like it would happen, they had been stopping the Falcons all game long.

They got the stop all right, but did not get the win.

Nate Clements intercepted Matt Ryan with 1:31 left in the game and proceeded to run 37 yards down the left sideline, but he was stripped from behind by Falcons wideout Roddy White.

With possession and new life at their own 7, Ryan marched the Falcons down the field on 12 plays to set up a 43-yard field goal by Matt Bryant. It put the finishing touches on Atlanta’s improbable 16-14 home victory.

New York Yankees: Does October belong to Derek Jeter?

It has been obvious for a while now that the 2010 regular season was not going to be one to remember for Derek Jeter.

Maybe it was too much to expect him to match his resurgent 2009 -- in which he hit .334, the fourth-highest batting average of his career, raised his on-base percentage to over .400 and posted 212 hits, just seven below the high-water mark he reached in 1999, when he had more hits than anyone in baseball.

But now that the regular season is over and Jeter has officially achieved career lows in just about every offensive category -- his final batting average, .270 is 34 points lower than his career average of .314, his OBP of .340 is not only the worst of his career as a regular but the lowest of any New York Yankees regular other than Curtis Granderson -- it is time to do what Jeter himself would do.

Jeter's irritation with his own performance was frequently apparent this year.
Namely, move on. To the next phase of the season, the next game, the next at-bat.

"One thing you understand when you play here is it's not how you start, it's how you finish," Jeter said last week. "Once you get to the playoffs nobody cares too much about what you did in the regular season."

The implication, of course, is that now that the weather has turned chilly and the games more important, Jeter's bat will heat up and production will improve. Just like it always has.
